Next week we need to show a prototype so I have been planning my website


The first draft of the prototype


My design is for aviation students or pilots and I want to give them a reality check and show them what their future looks like, scare them into action. also gives them a clearer understanding of what the consequences of their lifestyle is and visually show them the results. it becomes transformative when they see visually how the easy changes they choose and click on change the results. they can visually see how this would improve their health and motivate them to make a behavioral change.

  • the meters show where your blood test levels are at compared to the "good" range for being a pilot and also the bad range 
  • the projected health levels show what the users future looks like if they don't make any changes, this can be quite confronting even if they have okay results now in 20 years time they might not be able to fly a plane anymore.
  • the likelihood meters are another visual representation to give them a wake up call and clearly show them what they're results mean and its effect on being a pilot
  • the suggestions I have chosen are very simple and easy lifestyle changes to make that will make a difference over time so the user doesn't feel overwhelmed that they need to completely reinvent their lifestyle.
  • The user can click on the suggestions and see how the projected future, likelihood meter, and blood result meters can change if they put them into action. This should motivate them to change their behaviors as they can see the possibility of a brighter future and gives them something to aim for
  • the alternative career options are a bit of humorous addition that should scare them into action because they don't want to end up there if they continue on the same path they're going down. These also change when suggestions are clicked
  • its interactive, personal, customisable and provokes action

Week 12

This is my final prototype. I would have liked to make the transitions smoother with the graphs and animated so that the planes glide up and down but under the time pressure and limitations of invision, this was not possible. I also would have liked to make all the suggestions active buttons but the buttons I have chosen show the idea enough to know what would happen for all of them. Got some feedback from my second prototype today which was really helpful because some things I hadn't thought about were brought up. https://invis.io/JFS6NOFP39Y#/365149603_Website_23-5 Instead of having the person enter the results they could just upload their blood test pdf the paragraph at the start may need more of an explanation about what the website does average time people are pilots could be the x axis in projected future graphs break up the big chunk of text suggested changes could be customized and prioritized to make the experience more personal the career options are humorous but may be a bit insensitive to those who do work in these jobs minor detailing issue Examples of predicting future health: the University of Auckland (SoPH) and Heart Foundation of NZ heart forecast is a really interesting example of how your health status can be predicted in the future and its interactivity makes it a great informative experience. http://yhf.co.nz/cli...

Today in class, Klaus helped to clarify the blood data as everyone was a bit confused. It was good to find out his expectations and his insights into the data. We can either you john testings data and design something specifically for him or use the spreadsheet to design something regionally. I went back and looked at the spreadsheet because I have spent the most time analyzing that and I looked at what I found most interesting that could have the potential to become a project. The aviation medicals and HCG results I think are most interesting. So I started to research a little bit into them .
